Staff Accountant -I

Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Staff Accountant -I to join our US Statutory Controllership team.

This role will work directly with the US Statutory Reporting Team and assist in the preparation and submission of quarterly and annual financial statements with the State Insurance Departments.

What you'll be doing :

• Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual statutory financial filings
• Gain exposure to the Statutory Accounting Principles (SSAP)
• Support the compiling and organizing of financial data in accordance with SSAP
• Perform account reconciliations and variance analysis under senior staff supervision
• Support the documentation of internal controls and procedures related to statutory reporting
• Help gather data for external auditors and regulatory examiners
• Perform other related duties or projects as assigned by senior staff

What you'll bring :

Salary Range : $65,000 $80,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
