Job Description

HII is looking for a full-time Program Manager with experience in naval shipyards and knowledge of engineering calculations and SID / ICD / SRD drawing requirements.

The selected candidate will be responsible for leading ship checks, 2D and 3D drawing development and design across all ship classes, lead team development of HM&E engineering calculations and ensuring timely completion of project goals.

Additional responsibilities include financial tracking, man power scheduling, and effective communication with internal and external customers.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the profit and loss (P and L) of a complex program(s).
  • Responsible for providing program management oversight to a single customer requiring coordination of program requirements across planning stages with several subcontractors.
  • Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion.
  • Program may be based out of a single location utilizing established technologies requiring standard application to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems.
  • Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs.
  • Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Develops new business or expands services with the customer.
  • Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
  • Directs the work of employees assigned to the program.

Minimum Qualifications

6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field;

or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience.

  • Must have a degree in Engineering
  • Experience in ship design, engineering, and design for planning yards
  • Experience with testing of systems
  • Experience with shock engineering
  • Experience in AutoCAD
  • Must have a Confidential Clearance

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with US Navy, US Army, USCG vessels and land based test sites
  • Engineering and Training Certification or Professional Engineering Certification.
  • Experience with 3D Design & FEA Software

Physical Requirements

May be required to visit job site in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet / floor level.
