Pay Range Information :

Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidates qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.

Job Description Summary :

Working under the supervision of the PI and also independently, the Research Assistant carries out the tasks related to a specific research projectsuch as collecting and analyzing data, assisting in the preparation of data to submit to granting agencies and providing overall support and leadership to undergraduate student workers. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned depending on the needs of a particular research project.

Responsibilities :

• Provide administrative support relating to research
• Collect and analyze data
• Prepare materials for submission to granting agencies and foundations
• Provide ready access to all experimental data for the faculty researcher and / or supervisor
• Request or acquire equipment or supplies necessary for the project
• Manage and respond to project related email
• Supervise undergraduate students working on the research project (maintaining records on assignment completion, acting as liaison / mediator between the undergraduate students and the faculty researcher)
• Attend project meetings
• Attend meetings as necessary
• Summarize project results
• Prepare progress reports for the PI and funding agency
• Prepare other articles, reports, and presentations
• Monitor the project budget
• Other duties as assigned
