Job Summary : As a Service Technician Assistant, your primary responsibility is to assist experienced service technicians in their daily tasks.
You will contribute to equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair efforts while gaining hands-on experience and knowledge in the field.
Key Responsibilities :
Assist with Repairs :
- Collaborate with service technicians in diagnosing and repairing equipment, systems, or vehicles.
- Hand tools, parts, and equipment to technicians as needed.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure work environment.
Maintenance Tasks :
- Execute routine maintenance activities, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and equipment inspections.
- Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure efficiency.
Documentation :
- Accurately record service and repair details, including observations made during inspections.
- Document any issues, findings, and actions taken during repair processes.
Parts and Inventory :
- Assist in ordering and receiving parts and supplies, ensuring their availability for service tasks.
- Maintain inventory control and organize parts storage areas.
Customer Interaction :
- Interact professionally with customers and provide assistance when necessary.
- Communicate repair or maintenance procedures clearly and address basic customer inquiries.
Learning and Training :
- Actively participate in on-the-job training and skill development under the guidance of experienced technicians.
- Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
Tools and Equipment :
- Maintain and organize tools and equipment, keeping them in good working condition.
- Learn how to use and operate specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
Safety Compliance :
- Strictly adhere to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report safety hazards or incidents promptly to the supervisor.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional technical education or certifications may be preferred).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a keen interest in the field.
- Physical strength and ability to lift heavy objects, as well as work in physically demanding conditions.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and mechanical concepts.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies and equipment.
