Intensive Care RN | Kyle, Texas

An opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse with critical care expertise to support an intensive care unit in Kyle, TX. This contract position offers the chance to provide high-level nursing care to patients with complex and diverse needs during the night shift.

The unit cares for patients experiencing acute and severe conditions such as diabetic ketoacidosis, STEMI recovery, strokes, respiratory failure including intubation and ventilator support, ARDS, multi-organ dysfunction syndrome, heart failure exacerbations, COPD, gastrointestinal bleeding, renal and liver failure, and those requiring advanced cardiac support devices like IABP and Impella.

Key responsibilities include delivering individualized and comprehensive nursing care following the nursing processassessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. You will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, educate patients and families, and utilize clinical judgment to manage complex situations confidently. Proficiency with EPIC, Pyxis, and Excel for scheduling enhances effective workflow in this role.

Qualifications:

• Current RN licensure in Texas or compact state
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Minimum one year of critical care nursing experience
• BLS, ACLS (AHA only), and NIHSS certifications required
• Ability to meet organizational competency validations and complete ongoing educational requirements

Work Schedule:

• Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Full-time contract position
