Position : Material Handler

Work Location : Phoenix, AZ 85043

Payrate : $20.00 / hr.

Duration : 3+ Months role with high chances of extension / conversion

Shift : 7am till done (usually 4 : 30pm)

Dress Code : No tears, swears or rips. Jeans and steel toed boots

Job Description :

Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

• Work Environment : Warehouse / Field setting; mild to high temperature environment
• All duties related to the operation of a Steel Distribution warehouse. Work includes specialized equipment operation and / or supporting functions and requires practical knowledge of nature and operations and the materials, facilities and methods. Training will be provided.
• Generally responsible for completing basic, routine tasks with detailed instructions.
• Responsible for moving inventory or equipment, filling customer orders, pulling material from racks, unloading incoming material, loading trucks and / or customer vehicles, & helping maintain the upkeep of the warehouse.
• Receives, places / returns items into stock inventory locations.
• Pulls and assembles orders based on reviewing work / shipping orders or other documentation.
• Tags material for proper identification and complete all required documentation.
• Moves material from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas using forklift, side loader, or crane.
• Operates yard truck for the purpose of loading and unloading trailers.
• Maintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Sorts and places material on rack, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, or product code.
• Spot checks on inventory, completes daily and / or ad hoc checks for proper tagging of material, as directed.
• Reports any irregularities to supervisor for direction.
• Restock material.
• Responsible for adhering to / ensuring compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

0-5 years of relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
