PAY DETAILS This is an hourly non-exempt position listed at $33.91 / hour. SUMMARY DESCRIPTION The position is responsible for the efficient operation of the Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) by performing daily maintenance and monitoring to ensure accurate data is provided for billing member services and advanced operational technologies.

- AMI Administrator B. Directs : None PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Utilize all AMI software systems to maintain, analyze, and troubleshoot the AMI system.
- Maintain an understanding of RF, cellular, and ethernet based technologies along with their capabilities and limitations to facilitate problem solving, planning and design efforts, as well as case resolution.
- Monitor reports and alarms within the AMI system and respond as needed.
- Maintain, upgrade, and monitor AMI infrastructure to include Collectors, Gateways, and Routers.
- Troubleshoot failed, lost, not logging, and discovered meters in the field.
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of AMI, AMI technology and infrastructure while working with appropriate Cooperative personnel. Utilize data analytics, reports, and industry documentation to assess risk, formulate design plans, and solve problems proactively.
- OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide a resource for AMI Administrator to solve problems through collaborative efforts.
- Inspect, install, or change meters as needed.
- Provide AMI expertise to other departments throughout the organization.
- Assists with system operation and engineering activities as required to maintain continuity of service to the system.
- Aid with disaster response planning and recovery.
- Follow the cooperative safety rules as defined in the cooperative Safety Manual.
- Follow the cooperative Service Rules and Regulations. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Requires an Associate Degree in Applied Science or two years college level courses. 3-5 years of experience in a technical field . An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Must possess an analytical mindset that strives to solve problems and troubleshoot network issues.
- Requires excellent computer skills especially proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite for all communication and operational activities.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and maintain a high degree of accuracy in work performance and finished work quality.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in written and oral form, and complete work reports and related work documentation.
Must have the ability to understand and apply metering technology as applicable to the electronic metering equipment utilized by JOEMC.
Must be a focused, self-starter, who takes the initiative to remain proactive, and driven by their own internal motivation to build on a knowledge base that compliments the department.Must have the ability to interact positively with others, solve problems and communicate solutions to others constructively.Ability to communicate effectively with Cooperative members and employees and promote continuous good member and public relations. Ability to perform outdoors, in adverse weather conditions for extended periods of time.Ability to obtain and keep a NC Drivers License.Ability to think clearly and must possess sound judgment abilities.Ability to bend, stoop and stay on feet 8 hours a day.Ability to use tools in rough terrain. Ability to write in a clear legible manner.Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and to request clarification when needed.Ability to lift objects of various sizes and shapes weighing in excess of 25 pounds.Ability to climb structures and equipment in excess of 10 feet in height for the purpose of inspection, repair and evaluation.Ability to walk long distances over rough terrain for distances exceeding two miles.ON THE JOB TRAINING Provides the employee with overall exposure to equipment used and opportunities to increase industry knowledge so the employee can move to positions of increasing responsibility. Trains when schools are provided by Jones-Onslow EMC.WORKING CONDITIONS Normal working conditions inside and outside the building. Regular working hours are from 8 :
