Heavy Equipment Mechanic

From snowstorms to summer roadwork, our fleet tackles it all - and we need mechanics who are willing to do the same. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you’ll inspect, service, repair and maintain all types of equipment from small engines to heavy-duty equipment like our plow trucks, graders, and loaders – machinery that keep highways clear and infrastructure strong. You’ll be part of a mission-driven team that values reliability, safety, and service to the community.

Job Duties :

• Analyze, diagnose, repair and maintain light, medium and heavy equipment
• Perform skilled welding, fabrication, and repair of parts
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections on equipment
• Maintain records of time, materials, supplies etc.
• Use all required computers programs for repair tracking and diagnostics (such as experience with M5 / TAMS or similar; diagnostics such as Cat ET, Navistar NED / DLB, Allison, Meritor / Wabco, Cummins, Detroit)
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications :

Approximately 3 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic which includes :

OR

Completion of Heavy Equipment Apprenticeship program or graduation from a two-year Heavy Equipment Mechanic or related training program that included :

AND

Certifications : Valid Commercial Vehicle Inspectors Certificate within 12 months of hire.

Misc. : Mechanic must supply standard list of personal hand tools
