Responsibilities Work in a progressive care unit (PCU) of a hospital environment Patient ratio currently 1 : 5, with a goal to move to 1 : 4 Assignment duration ranges from 14 to 52 weeks, with flexibility depending on facility need Shift schedule is 3x12 hour days, 6 : 45 AM to 7 : 15 PM Unit assignment determined after clinical evaluation and could vary based on hospital requirements Travelers are expected to float to units of similar acuity as needed Epic EMR experience is required and used daily in this role Holiday shifts required, with at least one holiday per 13-week assignment and two during winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas / Christmas Eve, NYE / New Year's) Modules must be completed, with facility-provided orientation and Epic training included First-day orientation includes up to 7 hours of modules, completed either pre-start or during assignment Return travelers who have previously worked as employees must be gone for at least one year before being eligible to return Travelers are not eligible to return after 365 days of cumulative assignment time, subject to facility policy exceptions Christmas holiday RTO is not approved Requirements Active VA or compact state RN license required Current certifications in ACLS and BLS required Epic charting experience is required Two professional references required for consideration Copies of Driver's License and Social Security card required Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from facility; those within 50-99.9 miles may be considered for one 13-week contract with no extension Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627026.
