Director, Associate Creative
Under the direction of the Director, Marketing Services, the Director, Associate Creative plays a pivotal role in leading and inspiring creative teams to deliver compelling, brand-aligned campaigns across multiple channels. This role bridges strategic thinking and creative execution, ensuring that all creative output meets the high standards of innovation, effectiveness and brand consistency.
This role mentors creative teams and works cross functionally with key stakeholders.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities :
- Leads and mentors a team of designers, copywriters, multi-content producers and other creatives in the development of new creative campaigns that align with the needs of the key stakeholders. Fosters a collaborative environment that encourages innovation, professional growth and high-quality output.
- Supports and provides strategic day-to-day direction for Creative Supervisors in managing team members. Ensures workflows are efficient, priorities are clear, and resources are allocated effectively to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality creative output.
- Presents creative strategies and designs to key stakeholders with clarity and confidence. Actively listens to feedback and makes thoughtful adjustments to ensure alignment with business goals, brand standards, and campaign objectives.
- Stays current with industry trends, including large format signage (static and digital), dynamic outdoor media, and television creative. Applies insights from emerging formats and technologies to elevate campaign relevance, innovation, and impact.
- Seeks opportunities for staff training and professional development. Identifies skill gaps, recommends relevant workshops, courses, or certifications, and fosters a culture of continuous learning within the creative team.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles.
Education, Experience And Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Design, Advertising, Marketing, or related field required.Minimum 3 (three) years of creative experience required.Minimum 3 (three) years of supervisory experience required.Related, relevant, and / or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (Ksa) :
Advertising agency and / or in-house agency experience preferred.Strong portfolio demonstrates multi-channel creative excellence.Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and other design tools.Must have working knowledge of Macintosh computers and popular graphics industry software including but not limited to : Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Office Suite and similar programs. Must be proficient at Workfront or similar project management software utilized by the department.Must be able to maximize input and output devices such as scanners, printers and other peripherals and send / receive materials via the internet.Must have excellent project management and communication skills.Must be able to manage a team effectively and be able to proactively problem solve, provide guidance and direction to their team, and appropriately coach their team when needed.Licenses, Certifications And Registrations :
At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.No Driving Responsibilities : Role does not require a driver's license or insurance.Physical Requirements / Working Conditions Environment :
Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled casino and office setting.Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and / or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and / or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.Sedentary work : involves sitting most of the time.
