Van Driver (Local Government) (Part-Time) - Wayne County Area Agency on Aging(Multiple Vacancies)

THE POSITION

Wayne County Area Agency on Aging is looking for Van Drivers to interact and provide a necessary service to residents in need of door-to-door transportation services. This position gives you the opportunity to leave a positive footprint in the community while enhancing the lives of our members in need. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a part-time Van Driver, you will be tasked with enhancing the mobility of consumers by providing professional and accessible transportation in a safe, reliable, comfortable, and courteous manner. Work includes independently operating a county vehicle an average of 150 miles each day. This is an opportunity to provide transportation services as well as social contact for our consumers. Excellent communication skills are required, both person to person and via two-way radio. You must have patience and the ability to assist consumers, including senior adults and wheelchair-dependent consumers along rough payment or unpaved paths. As every day is different, you must be willing to easily adjust your daily work schedule.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :

• Part-time employment, approximately 14 to 21 hours per week
• Transportation operates 4 : 00 AM to 9 : 00 PM, Monday through Friday, with limited hours on Saturday
• Telework : You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary : In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
