Responsibilities :
- Directly supervises the employees in the HSE Department. Carries out
management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's
policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training
employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising
performance; taking part in rewarding and disciplining employees;addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Manage and provide information during PSM and corporate auditing
practices.
Conduct root cause investigations.Manage the Structured Safety Process for siteOversee Emergency Response ProgramManage process hazard analysis / hazops.Manages all external / internal HSE and PSM AuditsManage OSHA Voluntary Protection Program and continuous complianceManages Industrial Hygiene ProgramManage Drug and Alcohol Testing ProgramResponsible for Management of Change (MOC) program and IncidentManagement system.
Complete annual site HSE self-assessment.Observes workers and work practices to ensure that protectivedevices and safe work procedures are used.
Initiates and ensures investigations of accidents and unsafe workingconditions, compiling statistical data and providing remedial
actions to achieve effective accident prevention and avoidance of
losses.
Acts as liaison with government agencies and serves as plantmanagement representative in case of inquiries and inspections to
correct deficiencies and to minimize citations and fines for
noncompliance.
Keeps abreast of OSHA and corporate safety regulations and standardsapplicable to the plant.
Communicates with and / or trains employees to the extent appropriateto achieve understanding and compliance of same. Develops and prepares plant safety procedures
and rules, ensures their communication to those affected, and audits for
compliance.
Manages Workers Compensation ClaimsProvide various HSE-related reports as neededSupports HSE team as required in safety training, vendor management,special projects and reporting.
Direct HSE staff and monitor any oversight.Manage Environmental Permitting program and permit amendments.Always present a professional image to clients and vendors andmaintain a positive reputation of the company.
Follow all relevant company policies and procedures.Requirements :
CSP preferredBachelor's Degree in Engineering or Safety related field required,or 10 years or more of related experience and / or training can be
substituted.
Minimum seven (7) years' experience working in Safety required.
