- Location : Oakland, California (94609) – Bay Area healthcare jobs\n
- Assignment Length : 13-week travel nursing contract\n
- Start Date : November 10, 2025\n
- End Date : February 9, 2026\n
- Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM), 3 shifts per week\n
- Hours per Week : 36\n
- Estimated Weekly Salary : $2050 - $2190\n
- Unit : Medical / Surgical Telemetry (5th Floor)\n
- Patient Population : Adults – post-stroke, TIA, and general cardiac patients\n
- Patient Ratio : 1 : 4\n
- Orientation : 24 hours (includes modules and e-learning)\n
- Floating : May float to other units or campuses within scope of practice (shuttle provided if needed)\n
- Scheduling : Every other weekend required; on-call as needed\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n
- Active California RN license (required at time of submission)\n
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg Telemetry nursing experience\n
- Current AHA certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (all required at submission)\n
- Telemetry experience required; EKG interpretation skills preferred\n
- Epic electronic health record (EHR) experience preferred\n
- Ability to float to other units or campuses as needed\n
- Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of signing\n
- Compliance with background policy and travel nurse requirements (50-mile radius)\n\nMed / Surg Tele RN Responsibilities\n
- Assess, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate holistic nursing care for adult patients in a Med / Surg Telemetry unit\n
- Develop and implement individualized care plans considering psychological, sociocultural, and lifestyle factors\n
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care\n
- Educate patients and families on care plans, treatments, and transitions of care using teach-back methods\n
- Delegate tasks appropriately to team members based on scope of practice and capability\n
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (Epic preferred)\n
- Participate in ongoing education, orientation, and mentorship of new staff as needed\n
- Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements\n
