About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum of 2 years of recent independent PICU experience

License : Current state nursing license required

Certifications : BLS, PALS

Must-Have :

• Experience in managing ventilators and multiple monitors, specifically CVP and EKG
• Ability to work weekends with full flexibility to be scheduled when needed
• Willingness to float between units, including CVPICU and NICU

Description :

This position is for a registered nurse in a high acuity Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

The unit encounters cases involving injury, respiratory failure, shock, multi-system failure, poisonings, near drowning, meningitis, post-operative cardiac surgical care, and neurosurgery.

Nurses will function at the standard level of nursing practice.

Clinical duties include arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, central venous pressure monitoring, external ventricular drain management, ICP monitoring, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.

Experience with EVDs is highly preferred.

Applicants must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays.

There are no restrictions on holidays except for Christmas.

Candidates are required to be flexible with scheduling, including both day and night shifts.

Weekend staffing requirements vary based on the assigned schedule.

The expected patient-to-nurse ratio in the unit ranges from 1 : 1 to 1 : 2.

Independent practice experience of 2 years in the same unit is necessary, and prior travel experience is preferred.

Prior charge nurse experience is a plus.

If candidates have not previously worked in a children's hospital, relevant pediatric experience must be documented.

Candidates must have a strong clinical background and the ability to perform in a fast-paced, critical environment.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing excellent patient care to children.
