Duties & Responsibilities
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Complies with Metropolitan Hospital Center policies and procedures.
- Monitors systems and develops standards of performance, quality controls and progress of all assigned projects. Assists in developing policies, objectives and standards of care / utilization management practices.
- Completes department's administrative tasks : to assist the director and the assistant directors with the coordination of committee meetings, Extended Stay and Staff meeting, managing department's shared drive; Provides support to the UM Leadership Team (Assistant Directors of Nursing and Director) with the coordination of the Utilization Management Committee, Extended Stay Interdepartmental Meeting, Staff meetings. Also Manages the department's shared computer drives.
- Provides Operational Support to the Utilization / Care Management Personnel (clinical and non-clinical).
- Establish and maintains inter / intra-departmental relationships by maintaining courteous and effective working relationships with coworkers, internal and external customers i.e. physicians, Quality Review Organizations, Health Information Management, Patient Financial Service, etc.
- Establishes and maintains operational readiness, collaborative relationships with IT and Telecommunications to inventory and replace used / damaged hardware.
- Monitors and analyzes data and reports to maintain integrity of the department's systems and operations.
- Monitors the department specific email MetropolitanUM@nychhc.org to maintain compliance with all internal and external stakeholder and Quality Improvement Organizations i.e. IPRO, Livanta-Commence Health, etc.
- Run timely and accurate reports for all departmental needs specific to internal and external reporting.
- Conducts studies, surveys and analyses on existing operational systems and processes and make necessary recommendations and or modification to improve departmental objectives.
- Analyzes EPIC data for staff productivity, efficacy of department workflows and processes.
- May assume responsibility for planning, directing, coordinating and evaluating annual Utilization Plan.
- Participates in the direction and implementation of a quality assurance program in conjunction with the Quality Management Department. Upon completion of the Quality Management Academy.
- Assist in the preparation of personnel, supplies and budgets in conjunction with leadership team.
- Develop training and learning materials for onboarding new staff members
- Provides coverage for Administrative Team and Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
1. A Baccalaureate Degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university; and,
2. Two years of experience in business, government, hospital, educational or a non-profit organization in analysis, development and implementation of systems and sub-systems. Familiarity with EDP applications and data processing programs; or,
3. A Masters Degree in Management, Business Administration or approved related fields from an accredited college or university may be equated to a maximum of one year of related experience; or,
4. A satisfactory combination of education, training and experience.
