Position Summary
The Director of Operations will oversee all aspects of manufacturing, production, logistics, and operational efficiency within the organization. This executive-level leader will drive performance across departments, ensuring safety, quality, and profitability targets are consistently met. The ideal candidate is a hands-on strategist with strong electrical industry knowledge and a proven ability to scale manufacturing operations efficiently while maintaining exceptional quality and delivery standards.
Requirements
Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management across all operational departments, including production, assembly, supply chain, logistics, and quality assurance.
Develop and implement operational systems, processes, and best practices that support company goals for growth, efficiency, and safety.
Oversee manufacturing planning, material procurement, inventory management, and production scheduling to ensure on-time delivery of products.
Collaborate closely with Engineering, Sales, and Project Management teams to align production capacity with client demand and project timelines.
Lead and mentor department managers, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and teamwork.
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify bottlenecks, reduce waste, and improve throughput.
Manage operational budgets, forecasting, and capital expenditures for facilities, tooling, and equipment.
Ensure compliance with UL standards, OSHA safety regulations, and ISO quality procedures.
Implement Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to optimize operations and reduce costs.
Partner with executive leadership to develop long-term strategies for expansion, new product lines, and market positioning.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or related field (MBA preferred).
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in electrical manufacturing, distribution equipment, or power systems.
Proven track record managing complex operations and leading multi-department teams in a production environment.
Strong understanding of switchgear, power distribution equipment, and electrical assembly processes.
Demonstrated expertise in Lean manufacturing, process improvement, and KPI-driven management.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in ERP / MRP systems and manufacturing software tools.
OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certification preferred.
