Assistant Controller

Marcum Search is partnering with an established NYC organization to staff for an Accounting Manager.

Accounting Manager Job Description : Responsibilities :

• Provide HANDS-ON leadership and management for all accounting operations, including Billing, Accounts Receivable (A / R), Accounts Payable (A / P), and the General Ledger (GL).
• Conduct and oversee the posting of cash transactions and invoice processing.
• Perform bank reconciliations and manage payroll utilizing ADP RUN software.
• Reconcile and provide detailed reports for American Express transactions and prepare journal entries as necessary.
• Guarantee the prompt creation and distribution of monthly financial statements, ensuring stringent quality control over all financial transactions and reporting.
• Adhere to and manage compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Develop, implement, and maintain business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
• Coordinate with external auditors for the annual audit and research technical accounting issues for regulatory compliance.
• Support the financial close process at both month-end and year-end.
• Handle the filing of Sales & Use taxes.
• Advise on investment activities and formulate strategic recommendations for the company's financial direction.

Qualifications for the Accounting Manager Position :

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor, or Finance Manager.
• Advanced skills in MS Office, accounting software, and database management.
• Proficiency in handling and analyzing large volumes of data.
• In-depth knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Strong leadership capabilities with experience in supervising and directing a team.
• CPA certification is an asset but not a requirement.

We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced hands on Assistant Controller / Accounting Manager to join our clients growing organization.

Salary based upon experience but can range up to $100-125k plus Bonus annually.
