Rental Manager

Rental Manager Role Summary :
The Rental Manager is responsible for the growth and utilization of the rental product line. Ensure current customer satisfaction while aggressively adding new accounts and growing the rental fleet.
Rental Manager Responsibilities :
- Maintains a constant focus on meeting / exceeding client needs and expectations
- Monitor utilization daily to know what market conditions are for underutilized equipment
- Do weekly checks on competition rates and specials to know market rates
- Learn and know our available markets and understand what the competition is doing
- Work closely with lease sales, truck sales, parts and service staff to sell rental as a tool through all departments- go on sales calls with sales personnel from all departments
- Identify new opportunities for unit types / rental programs to continue to grow rental department
- Review rental fleet make up frequently to monitor the various items that signal a need for upcoming replacement for trucks
- Make sales calls via phone, in person, e-mail etc.
- Create and execute a scheduled blitz routine for predetermined territories that includes all leasing and rental staff
- Continue to grow and expand vocational rental business in conjunction with vocational sales and lease staff
- Handle all rental customer concerns personally; invoicing, payments, needs, breakdowns etc
- Inform your team daily of changing needs and availability by truck type
- Review, verify, code and approve all rental related invoices weekly. Initiate and complete dispute and resolution process for each when needed
- Manage the fleet reservations to maximize each trucks use, leaving opportunity to maximize upcoming reservations that can be fulfilled
- Manage daily the costs associated with each rental to maximize profit
- Daily communication and prioritizing of tasks for the rental team
- Compile, prepare and present budget information for the rental department based on expectations, trends, internal knowledge of upcoming items impacting your fleet, rate or profit
- Manage the turn in damage evaluation for each individual rental and follow that process through all steps. Own the final approval for the repairs, billing decisions and customer explanations
- On call evenings and weekends for customer concerns and lease sub needs
- Compile and maintain turn down list and utilize this information to make additional new customers as equipment returns
- Work closely with the credit department to set up new accounts and inform them of the details needed. May require you to assist with payment plans and collections as needed
- Monitor sub needs and follow up with service, to minimize the length and cost of each sub need
- Monitor invoicing of rental customers, corrections needed, pricing, timing, some manual invoicing as needed
- Subject matter expert and training as needed for all tasks within the rental department
- Tracking, posting and invoicing for fuel receipts
- Create and process rental agreements
- Pre and post rental truck inspections, with record keeping of findings
- Supply accounting with all correspondence, details and documents for legal proceedings
- Provide customers with invoice, agreement documentation as requested. With explanation of charges
- Obtain and verify insurance documents for accuracy to ensure our liability is covered by the customer's policy
- Work with insurance companies for replacement value pay offs as well as individual accident occurrences to get coverage and invoices paid in the most timely manner possible
- Establishes project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy
Rental Manager Qualifications / Requirements :
Effective oral and written communication skillsMinimum of 5 years sales, rental and management experience within the Trucking / Transportation Industry or a related industrySelf-motivated with the highest degree of energy, self-confidence and integrity and the ability to perform well with-out daily supervisionAbility to successfully negotiate with customers at all management levelsAbility to work under pressure both externally and internally across department lines, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple tasks simultaneouslyEffectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environmentExceptional Customer Service OrientationProven ability to exceed annual / quarterly / monthly sales goalsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applicationsSome travel is requiredRental Manager Benefits Include :
