Department Summary
The Institute for Health Disparities (IHD) conducts research, training and community outreach in the areas of minority health, health disparities and workforce diversity.
Constituting the IHD are the Texas Center for Health Disparities, National Research Mentoring Network, Texas CEAL Consortium, Diversity Training Programs and the NIMHD Endowment.
Position Overview
We are recruiting a motivated and skilled researcher for a Postdoctoral position to lead experiments on a project, HSC Scholars in Cancer Research funded by the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT).
The incumbent will have the opportunity to work with one of the faculty members conducting cuttingedge research in the areas of cancer and health disparities.
The list of faculty working in these areas can be found on our website (Find Profiles HSC (unthsc.edu). The broad areas of research include artificial intelligence, cancer biology, cancer prevention, cancer therapeutics, computational biology, immunology, nanotechnology, proteomics, stem cell research, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctoral degree. If not yet conferred, a letter from the school's official Graduate Office and / or Registrar's Office certifying that all requirements have been met and stating the degree conferral date can be accepted.

Job Duties :
- Design, plan and conduct experiments.
- Document and analyze data, and prepare manuscripts for publications.
- Develop new project ideas and submit grant applications.
- Provide scientific supervision of undergraduate and graduate students.
- Provide leadership for lab management.
