The Key Training Center was established in Citrus County over 59years ago. The Key is recognized as one of the Premier Providers in the United States serving the intellectually developmentally disabled community, as well as one of the oldest Premier Providers in the State of Florida. We continue to grow as an organization to provide residential, adult training, dementia, and Alzheimer's daycare, and other programs to multiple clients.

The Residential Services Supervisor is the designated representative of the Director of Housing and Residential Services in maintaining a high standard of quality of life for participants of the residential program. Responsible for ensuring all aspects of the residential services system meet all regulatory standards and that the essence of these standards also results in a high quality of life in the physical, social, and emotional domains. Serves as advisor to the Director of Housing and Residential Services on all matters related to the welfare of participants, risk management, staff development, and quality assurance initiatives needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for all aspects of group home operations in CCARC's Residential Program in concert with the Director of Housing & Residential Services.
  • Ensures that all licensing requirements are operational and that verifiable (written) accountability procedures exist. This includes LTRC, ALF, HUD, USDA, and other governmental requirements, as applicable.
  • Ensures that staffing patterns meet minimum requirements. Works hand in hand with the Human Resource Department to hire staff.
  • Provides monthly direct care staff schedules and "on call" schedules to staff under their direct supervision; maintains staffing ratios as required for each home. Designs and distributes direct care staff schedules for vacations, holidays, and special events. Coordinates vacation leave time for staff and ensures coverage for vacancies.
  • Carries "on call" phone; responds to calls and is available to manage staffing situations as they arise. In rare instances, you will be available to complete a shift if relief staff is unavailable. Monitors staffing needs 24 / 7, ensuring staff-to-client ratios are maintained per regulatory requirements at all times.
  • Ensures that staff have received orientation and training before assumption of their duties within the residential program.
  • Ensures that staff have all basic personnel requirements fulfilled to include : application and work history, physical, TB test or chest x-ray, references, background checks, and other basic requirements for continued employment. Serves as a liaison in this capacity with Human Resources.
  • Inspects residences on a regular and ongoing basis and makes observations and follow-up as necessary. Inspections will include general cleanliness, maintenance issues, and safety and security.
  • Directly supervises all group home Resident Managers in his / her designated area.
  • Ensures all residential habilitation is being carried out on a regular basis with data collection.
  • Conducts monthly meetings with the Resident Managers and responds to their needs, and those of the residents in their respective residences on an as-needed / as appropriate basis. Maintains minutes of those meetings.
  • Acts as a liaison with parents, families, and relatives.
  • Responsible for disaster preparedness, including fire, hurricane, and tornado drills.
  • Responsible for securing ongoing in-service training.
  • Ensures the adequacy of the Food Service Program in each facility on a monthly basis with specific regard to portion, nutrition adequacy, variety, personal choices and preferences, and menus.
  • Performs other essential duties as assigned or required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly responsible for the supervision of Resident Managers in their assigned locations; indirect supervision of all direct care staff in their respective areas.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in Social or Behavioral Sciences from an accredited college or university preferred, OR an Associate's Degree in the Social or Behavioral Sciences from an accredited college or university. A minimum of four (4) years of experience working with developmentally disabled individuals or a related environment. Supervisory experience in a developmental setting may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Florida driver's license with a safe driver rating.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to deal courteously, tactfully, and efficiently with residents' families, staff members, and the general public.
  • Emotional stability and maturity with a genuine interest in working with residents.
  • Knowledge of life-safety and infection control protocols.
  • Willingness to comply with in-service training or other mandates.
  • T.A.C.T. Certification and / or training (within one year of assuming the Residential Services Supervisor position).
  • Knowledge of building and fire safety codes.
  • Knowledge of all applicable accreditation requirements.
  • Aptitude for setting operational / administrative priorities.
  • Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

    The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
