Overview

Air Force Civilian Service is hiring a full-time Chemical Engineer (NH-0893-03) to support Air Force Materiel Command, Ogden Air Logistics Center – Hill AFB, Utah. This federal position offers a rewarding career with benefits.

Base pay and salary range

Base pay range : $88,621.00 / yr - $137,000.00 / yr

Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject matter expert regarding chemical engineering principles and techniques.
  • Support chemical cleaning and plating processes, non-destructive inspection, heat treatment of metals, metal / composite adhesive bonding, and related chemical engineering support operations.
  • Provide project development, execution, training, and advisory services in assigned areas within established policies and regulations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot engineering problems with minimal guidance while delivering complete specifications aligned with group and complex policies.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • This may be a designated Drug Testing Position
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical (if applicable)
  • Engineering degree at the bachelor's level from an ABET-accredited program in Chemical Engineering or closely related field (highly desired)
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of professional chemical, environmental, and general engineering principles, practices, techniques, and procedures
  • Ability to troubleshoot engineering problems and investigate questionable conditions
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations related to corrosion control, environmental, health, and safety issues
  • Skill in applying chemical engineering practices and techniques
  • Ability to work independently within broad objectives and deliver completed specifications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships
