Overview

Air Force Civilian Service is hiring a full-time Chemical Engineer (NH-0893-03) to support Air Force Materiel Command, Ogden Air Logistics Center – Hill AFB, Utah. This federal position offers a rewarding career with benefits.

Base pay and salary range

Base pay range : $88,621.00 / yr - $137,000.00 / yr

Responsibilities

Serve as subject matter expert regarding chemical engineering principles and techniques.
Support chemical cleaning and plating processes, non-destructive inspection, heat treatment of metals, metal / composite adhesive bonding, and related chemical engineering support operations.
Provide project development, execution, training, and advisory services in assigned areas within established policies and regulations.
Diagnose and troubleshoot engineering problems with minimal guidance while delivering complete specifications aligned with group and complex policies.

Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship

Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

This may be a designated Drug Testing Position

Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical (if applicable)

Engineering degree at the bachelor's level from an ABET-accredited program in Chemical Engineering or closely related field (highly desired)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of professional chemical, environmental, and general engineering principles, practices, techniques, and procedures

Ability to troubleshoot engineering problems and investigate questionable conditions

Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations related to corrosion control, environmental, health, and safety issues

Skill in applying chemical engineering practices and techniques

Ability to work independently within broad objectives and deliver completed specifications

Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships
