Logistics Manager

Responsible for purchasing highly complex or unusual, technical, or high value materials, supplies, or services. Leads aspects of strategic sourcing, which may include, Statement of Work (SOW) and Request for Proposal (RFP) preparation, proposal evaluation, price / cost analysis, contract negotiation, vendor management, and contract administration. Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates in order to determine the best bid among potential suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders
• Select, and recommend suppliers and negotiates price, quality, and service
• Follow up on all awards until completion of order
• Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and to departments originating requests
• Negotiate and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering change orders
• Oversee and / or conduct supplier site visits as necessary
