Graphic Designer
Position Description : POSITION SUMMARY :
The Creative Communications Associate will be responsible for graphic design, marketing, and communications for special events, fundraisers, and programs and services.
Must possess excellent graphic design, marketing, oral and written communication skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, a quick learner, and proficient with technology.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Design graphics for social media, signage, brochures, videos, etc.
- Build brand awareness through various media outlets
- Create and implement marketing plans, including budgets, timelines, collateral, etc.
- Create and update collateral materials to support fundraisers & special events, such as the Walk to END EPILEPSY.
- Create and update collateral materials to support programs, such as support groups, Seizure First Aid training, etc.
- Identify trends and develop new insights in customer communications, recommend / execute responses to optimize campaign performance, customer value, and retention
- Oversee and manage all EFCST websites
- Maintain a content calendar for all campaigns, including social media, email, direct mailers, etc.
REQUIREMENTS :
- Bachelors degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field
- 2-3 years of experience in graphic design, marketing, social media management, and / or communications
- Experience in WordPress, SEO, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and Buffer
- Experience in adhering and elevating organizational branding
- Experience with photography and videography is preferred but not required
- Be able to submit resume and portfolio or work samples for review
- 1-year experience working with a donor database preferred
- Nonprofit experience preferred, but not required
- Bilingual preferred, but not required
COMMUNICATION SKILLS REQUIRED :
- A strong understanding of what makes a powerful narrative and how to communicate that narrative across multiple platforms
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent copywriting and editing skill
- Be able to work effectively with others
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT :
- Works in a typical air-conditioned office
- Must be able to handle weights up to 25 pounds
- Must be willing to withstand up to a 12-hour workday
HOURS OF WORK :
This is a full-time position. Regular working hours are Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm. However, some evenings and weekend work are required.
Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as duties require. Will occasionally participate in outdoor activities.
SUPERVISORY & DECISION MAKING RESPONSIBILITIES :
May be required to make frequent decisions with significant importance concerning the operation of the Foundation. Supervision of interns, volunteers, and vendors may be required.
TRAVEL :
Travel will be required upon occasion for special events or to implement the marketing outreach programs. Must have a valid drivers license, current automobile liability insurance, and a driving record with no major driving offenses.
Reliable transportation is a must.
