YOUR MISSION AND ABOUT BLIZZARD QUALITY ASSURANCE (QA) Blizzard Entertainment delivers genre-defining games across Warcraft, Overwatch, Diablo, StarCraft and more. Blizzard QA emphasizes iteration, problem-solving, and team success, striving for Blizzard polish in every aspect of our games. This role is anticipated to be hybrid (some on-site, some remote) with the home studio in Boston, MA.

Job Summary :

The Quality Analyst is a software development professional who implements the fundamental test process to enhance development and product quality. This role executes test approaches aligned with Blizzard standards, identifies defects and risks, and offers potential solutions. The Quality Analyst supports associate-level Quality Analysts and collaborates with stakeholders on the product team. They analyze the development process to drive improvements, focusing on tool-assisted test design, execution, analysis, and test library management. They value test automation and participate in product development meetings and planning, working with stakeholders to meet product quality objectives and assist in training associates and new staff.

Responsibilities

Deliver test design, test execution, test library maintenance, and test closure results through manual and automated Grey-box testing.

Document and maintain detailed records of test cases, results, and issues discovered during testing.

Develop test plans with methods such as data validation, regression, integration, and performance / load testing.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, to understand and define testing requirements.

Partner with internal and external vendor teams in global test efforts to support testing activities.

Adhere to department SLAs within project management tools (e.g., JIRA) and test-related tools (e.g., TestRail).

Ensure deployment stability across all test environments.

Research, recommend, and adopt tools to support continuous improvement and increase test coverage through automation.

Use KPIs to validate and report on software quality.

Identify edge cases beyond expected functionality and develop exploratory testing approaches.

Help others develop knowledge and skills through training and constructive feedback.

Advocate user experience through qualitative reporting.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.

Experience working with a global test team structure is preferred.

Practical experience with game engines, bug / task tracking systems, content and asset editors, and shared technologies.

Knowledge & Skills

High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.

Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and QA processes in agile and waterfall environments.

Ability to analyze, interpret, and act on data sets and complex workflows.

Ability to troubleshoot with root-cause analysis and creative defect detection and reporting approaches.

Extra Points

White box testing experience.

ISTQB CTFL or equivalent.

Coding knowledge : XML / HTML, JavaScript, Python, Java, C / C++ / C#, SQL.

High level of gaming knowledge and / or skill.

Passion for Blizzard’s products and services.
