In this role you will inspect machined and fabricated parts for conformance to print / specifications and Amsted Rail workmanship expectations. Set up, operate and monitor the Cone Assembly Equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following essential functions satisfactorily :

• Adhere to plant-wide safety, ergonomics and environmental requirements, defined by Amsted Rail policy and procedures
• Possess an understanding of the manufacturing process, supporting production personnel in meeting functional and dimensional expectations as specified
• Assist in first piece inspection with confidence and accuracy
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of critical part dimension and apply to the inspection process
• Perform visual and dimensional inspection of parts
• Operate measuring equipment (e.g., auto gauge, bench gauge, roundness tester, and hardness tester) with efficiency and accuracy
• Mark items with details such as acceptance or rejection status
• Discuss inspection results with those responsible for product

Maintain work area cleanliness and organization throughout the shift
