Location : Fort Dodge
Description : Coordinates activities of transportation operations for optimum use of equipment, facilities, and personnel by performing the following duties personally or through local or regional teams, including drivers, dispatchers, and management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities : Include but are not limited to the following :
- Confers and cooperates with other management personnel in formulating administrative and operational policies and procedures.
- Reviews and analyzes expenditure, financial, and operations reports.
- Responsible for creating, maintaining, and reviewing P & L statements on the fleet.
- Develop, implement, and manage a daily / weekly / monthly incentive program for fleet drivers
- Assist Managers with enforcing compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and governmental regulations.
- Process independent carrier freight payables.
- Analyze and adapt / re-route truck routes as necessary to ensure maximum efficiency is reached, including optimum use of resources.
- Develop forecast and logistics plan to meet the needs of the organization during peak periods such as Spring work and Harvest, including input on fleet size needs across the company
- Assist in securing outside freight for grain, feed, and agronomy departments as needed.
Education and Experience Required
Bachelors degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and / or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least 3-5 years of experience in logistics, ideally in an agricultural or cooperative setting.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, and other Microsoft products.
Experience with other logistics or transportation software is a plus.
Must be able to travel in and out of state on a frequent basis.
