About the Role

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs procedures using radionuclides for the diagnosis or treatment of diseases. You will use your knowledge of human anatomy, patient care, and nuclear medicine principles to produce images that conform to the highest standards. This role also requires adherence to regulatory guidelines and maintaining quality control within the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Nuclear Medicine exams following established protocols.
  • Administer radioactive materials to patients in compliance with regulations.
  • Ensure safety measures for radioactive materials for patients and staff are followed.
  • Educate patients about procedures prior to examinations.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating imaging equipment.
  • Maintain all required documentation regarding radioactive materials.
  • Ensure compliance with standard precautions, infection control, and radiation safety policy.
  • Qualifications

    Education :

  • Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • Experience :

  • Preferred : One year as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • Licensure / Certification :

  • Certified by the Texas Department of State Health Services as a Medical Radiologic Technologist.
  • Must obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
