Estimated Weekly Pay Range : $1,910 - $2,050 per week
Neuro ICU RN Job Details
Location : Olympia, WA 98506 (Pacific Northwest healthcare jobs)
Facility Setting : Neuro-Trauma Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Assignment Type : Travel Nursing Contract
Start Date : November 25, 2025
End Date : February 24, 2026
Contract Duration : 13 weeks
Shifts : Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19 : 00 - 07 : 30); 4x12-hour option may be available
Hours per Week : 36
Patient Ratios : 1 : 2 (may be 1 : 4 for downgraded patients)
Charting System : EPIC
Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend
Floating : Required to similar units within skill set (PCU, MS / Tele, MS Neuro)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience (neuro ICU experience preferred)
Active RN license in Washington State or Compact License
BLS and ACLS certifications (required for all nursing jobs)
NIHSS certification (required)
CCRN certification (preferred for critical care nursing jobs)
Experience caring for high-acuity neuro and general ICU patients (sepsis, respiratory failure, DKA, GIB, COVID)
Proficiency with ventilators, EVDs, bolts, pacemakers, thermoregulation, and CRRT
Experience with Epic charting system
Ability to float to similar units as needed
Must be able to work every other weekend
Travel nurses must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
Neuro ICU RN Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to high-acuity neuro and general ICU patients
Monitor and manage patients with complex neurological conditions and trauma
Perform and interpret arterial blood gases, manage arterial and central lines, and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
Care for ventilated patients and manage external ventricular drains (EVDs)
Implement hypothermia protocols and post-neurosurgery management
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response
Float to PCU, MS / Tele, and MS Neuro units as required
Maintain accurate documentation using Epic
Participate in unit-based quality and patient safety initiatives
