Our client is seeking a hands-on Quality Assurance Supervisor to lead QA operations in a regulated food manufacturing environment. This role ensures compliance with food safety standards, manages QA personnel, and drives continuous improvement across quality systems, documentation, and regulatory readiness. Responsibilities :
- Promote Good Documentation Practices and change control protocols.
- Manage supplier qualification records and employee training compliance.
- Lead investigations for deviations, OOS, NCMRs, customer complaints, and CAPAs.
- Ensure compliance with GMP , GDP , HACCP , FDA , and internal food safety programs.
- Conduct monthly internal GMP audits and maintain audit-ready documentation.
- Coordinate reworks and non-conformance with production and inventory teams.
- Supervise, train, and motivate QA team members; administer attendance and performance management.
- Oversee batch record reviews, sanitation reports, production yields, and compliance documentation.
- Oversee QMS programs including allergen control, sanitation, pest control, and environmental monitoring.
- Support regulatory inspections (FDA, NSF, Kosher, Halal, Texas DSHS) and food defense plans.
Qualifications :
Familiarity with Oracle is a plus.Experience working on the floor of a manufacturing facility.Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, FDA regulations, and food safety systems.Proficiency in QMS software, database tools, Excel, and manufacturing systems.Certifications such as HACCP, PCQI, or SQF Practitioner are strongly preferred.Bachelor's degree in chemistry, food science, microbiology, or related scientific field or Master's degree with 2+ years of QA supervisory experience.3-4 years of supervisory experience in quality control within food, nutraceutical, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.Preferred :
Demonstrated career stability in QA supervisory roles.Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.Comfortable managing 3-10 direct reports in a fast-paced, compliance-driven setting.Background in mid-sized food manufacturing environments (200-500 employees)Skilled in root cause analysis, statistical quality control, and technical documentation.
