Description :
The Recovery Outreach & Support Specialist at Rise Inspire Academy is responsible for supporting student recovery through peer mentorship, managing outreach and enrollment activities, and maintaining student records and administrative processes. This role is also responsible for fostering community relationships to enhance enrollment and increase support for students in recovery.
Recovery Peer Support
- Serve as a positive role model of recovery and resilience for students.
- Provide mentoring, emotional support, and recovery-focused check-ins as needed.
- Use lived experience to offer hope, build trust, and empower students navigating behavioral health and substance use challenges.
- Collaborate with the recovery team to support individualized student recovery plans.
- Maintain confidentiality and clear boundaries while sharing relevant personal experiences in a professional, supportive manner.
- Participate in ongoing professional development related to trauma-informed care and peer support ethics.
Community Outreach & Enrollment Engagement
Lead outreach efforts to increase awareness and enrollment at Rise Inspire Academy.Build relationships with referral partners, behavioral health providers, recovery programs, juvenile justice systems, and other relevant organizations.Attend community events and meetings to promote the school’s mission and increase visibility.Coordinate student recruitment campaigns, open houses, and stakeholder meetings.Maintain a database of outreach contacts and follow-up communications.Monitor enrollment targets and collaborate with the Principal and leadership team to strategize student recruitment.RIA Administration
Oversee the enrollment, withdrawal, and transfer process in alignment with school policies and regulations.Manage and maintain accurate student records, including academic, demographic, and special program data.Input and verify student data in the student information system.Prepare attendance, enrollment, and performance reports as requested.Assist with creating class schedules and ensuring timely communication of academic progress.Coordinate the requesting and forwarding of student records from / to other institutions.Provide general clerical support to campus administrators and assist with classroom coverage as needed.Support a welcoming front office environment and assist with student sign-in / out procedures.Requirements : Required
High school diploma or equivalentCertified Recovery Support Peer Specialist (RSPS) or eligible for certification within 60 days of employment.Must have a valid Texas driver license, a minimum of six (6) years of driving experience, and a clean driving record.Applicants must be twenty-three (23) years of age or older to comply with Rise Recovery’s insurance requirements.Must maintain automobile insurance coverage, be able to travel as needed, and be able to meet on a consistent basis the driving record requirements of Rise Recovery’s auto insurance carrier if personal vehicle is driven during company business.Commit to ethical responsibilities, including maintaining confidentiality, establishing appropriate boundaries, and avoiding dual relationships with individuals served.Maintain ethical standards aligned with peer support certification and school policies.Demonstrate professionalism, responsibility, and a commitment to student well-being and school success.Ensure a collaborative and respectful working relationship with the Principal, staff, students, and partner organizations.Participate actively in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional learning communities.Follow all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including those related to charter schools, mandated reporting, and abuse risk management.Preferred
Associate degree in Child Development / Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field preferred; Bachelor's degree a plus.Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.Experience supporting executives or leadership teams.Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.Ability to relate respectfully to individuals from diverse backgrounds.Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.Physical Requirements
Must be able to meet the physical requirements to complete required training(s) including lifting up to 12 lbs. and supporting up to 55 lbs.; bending, stooping, and getting on and off the floor without assistance.Ability to walk, stand, sit for short or long periods of time.Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Able to operate standard office technology, equipment and utilize office supplies.Working Condition
School-based setting with classroom, common areas, and supervision of outdoor school environments such as playgrounds, courtyards, or event spaces.Regularly scheduled hours may vary during periods of workload fluctuation.Full-time non-exempt employees shall be assigned to work 40 hours per week, while part-time employees shall be assigned to work 29 hours or less per week to ensure compliance with FLSA, and ACA regulations.Occasional night, weekend and holiday hours may be necessary to support additional recovery programming and / or Rise Recovery events.
