Funding Account Manager

Location : Remote (U.S.-based preferred in San Francisco)

Type : Full-Time | Reports to : Head of Growth

Our client is a fast-growing digital health company dedicated to transforming behavioral health care through cutting-edge AI and data-driven solutions. Their mission is to enable providers and care teams to detect clinical deterioration earlyultimately improving outcomes and expanding access to mental health services. With a focus on proactive, precision-based care, they partner with payers, health systems, and public programs to build scalable, sustainable funding pathways for behavioral health innovation.

The Role

As a Funding Account Manager, you will lead and grow relationships with payers, grantmakers, and other funding sources that make behavioral health services more accessible. You'll act as the operational and strategic bridge between our organization and key stakeholders, ensuring funding pipelines are active, compliant, and delivering measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities

Account Management & Relationship Development

  • Own a portfolio of funding accounts (state Medicaid programs, grant partners, health systems, or behavioral health payers)
  • Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with decision-makers, contract managers, and billing contacts
  • Serve as the point of contact for all funding-related communications and reporting

Funding Strategy & Execution

  • Support applications for state / federal grants, behavioral health innovation funds, and other subsidy programs
  • Track reimbursement eligibility and ensure compliance with payer rules and grant reporting guidelines
  • Collaborate with Growth, Clinical, and Finance teams to align funding strategy with product implementation timelines
  • Performance Tracking & Optimization

  • Monitor and analyze funding performance across accounts to improve efficiency and outcomes
  • Maintain internal dashboards to track billing, claims, and renewal timelines
  • Proactively identify gaps, risks, and areas for expansion within each account
