We are seeking a versatile Civil Structural CAD Drafter / Designer to join our team, specializing in civil and structural engineering projects, particularly in the restoration and upgrading of historical buildings.
This role requires expertise in drafting and designing civil and structural elements while also possessing the capability to interpret and integrate plans from various disciplines including structural, civil, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical.
Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, including Civil 2D or 3D, is essential for creating detailed drawings and plans.
The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with engineers and stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of projects, maintaining the historical integrity of buildings while integrating modern infrastructure systems.

Responsibilities :
Civil and Structural Drafting and Designing : Utilize CAD software, including Civil 2D or 3D, to create detailed drawings and plans for civil engineering projects, with a focus on structural components such as bridges, retaining walls, foundations, and other structures.
Interdisciplinary Coordination : Read and interpret plans from various disciplines including structural, civil, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical.
Integrate these plans into comprehensive design packages, ensuring coordination and compatibility across all disciplines.
Collaboration : Work closely with civil engineers, structural engineers, architects, preservationists, and other team members to understand project requirements and translate conceptual designs into technical drawings.
Coordinate with professionals from other disciplines to integrate their plans into the overall project design.
Review and Revise : Review drawings from various disciplines for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and regulations.
Incorporate feedback and revise drawings as necessary to meet project requirements.
Documentation : Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation including civil, structural, and interdisciplinary drawings, specifications, and project records.
Organize and manage drawing files and project documentation efficiently.
Quality Assurance : Conduct quality checks on drawings to ensure adherence to engineering standards, historical preservation guidelines, and best practices.
Identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues in drawings related to structural design and interdisciplinary coordination.
Experience :
- Previous experience working as a CAD Drafter / Designer in the civil engineering or construction industry with a focus on structural drafting and design.
- Familiarity with historical preservation principles and guidelines is advantageous.
CAD Skills :
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 2D, Civil 3D, or similar programs is essential.
- Ability to create detailed 2D or 3D drawings, layouts, and models, with expertise in civil and structural drafting.
Interdisciplinary Knowledge :
- Understanding of plans and terminology from various disciplines including structural, civil, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical.
- Ability to interpret and integrate plans from multiple disciplines into cohesive design packages.
