POSITION MARKETING ASSOCIATE COMPANY SUMMARY The American Equity Underwriters, Inc. (AEU) (An Amwins company) is the program administrator of the American Longshore Mutual Association, Ltd.
ALMA), a group self-insurance fund authorized by the U.S. Department of Labor to provide USL&H coverage for the liabilities of its members under the United States Longshore & Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act.

POSITION SUMMARY The Marketing Associate is responsible for supporting the Marketing team through a range of marketing, event, and administrative activities.
This includes managing the marketing inbox, assisting with special projects, overseeing website maintenance, handling event preparations, and other supporting tasks.
The role involves administrative tasks such as data management, platform maintenance, research, and digital asset maintenance.
The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, highly organized, tech-savvy, able to communicate and collaborate effectively across various functions and move nimbly between tasks and projects.
This is an in-office position and the individual will report to the VP, Assistant Director of Marketing. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Marketing Support
- Oversee the Marketing team inbox, ensuring efficient routing of leads, inquiries, and relevant communications.
- Assist in executing special projects, including but not limited to Best Companies survey, Safety Awards, and the Annual Report.
- Keep track of upcoming industry events, identifying sponsorship and attendance opportunities.
- Oversee various licenses and subscriptions, ensuring timely renewals.
- Maintain the AEU website by checking for broken links, updating content as necessary, and conducting an annual content review.
- Handle industry sponsorship-related activities.
- Manage the "Work The Waterfront" job board.
Event Support
- Assist in the creation of event materials, including nametags, agendas, and related items.
- Support speaker management for AEU events as instructed.
- Handle the assembly, packing, and shipping of materials as needed.
- Procure necessary supplies, including shipping materials, branded items, room drops, etc.
- Keep track of and update customer preference details for events, e.g., dietary needs, accessibility requirements, and other relevant information.
Administrative Support
- Maintain and update tasks and details on Marketing's project management platform.
- Oversee inventory of promotional items, marketing materials, and various marketing assets including electronic and photography equipment.
- Assist in post-event activities, ensuring proper documentation of learnings and action items, recording of event-related data, and storing event materials electronically for future reference.
- Manage AEU customer databases for marketing and event needs, coordinating with other departments for data consistency across platforms.
- Generate segmented contact lists for marketing initiatives and events.
- Run analytics reports for marketing campaigns and events.
- Ensure functionality of website contact forms.
- Support in research tasks, data collection, and data entry.
- Organize digital assets, including event photos, member logos, externally accessed files, and employee headshots.
- Schedule and maintain employee headshots.
- Keep the AEU marketing and events calendar current.
- Handle the re-sending process of returned items, such as Annual Reports and event invitations.
- Schedule meetings and reserve meeting spaces as instructed.
- Carry out additional support tasks as assigned.

g., data collection / maintenance). Experience with Excel for data management and organization is required.

This may include senior leaders both at AEU and our customers' organizations, as well as vendors or other service providers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of three years of marketing, operations or administrative support in a corporate environment
- Associate or bachelor's degree preferred ; will consider equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Ability to lift loads of up to 30 lbs
- This position may require occasional travel, sometimes overnight.
- Proficiency with the following software is required : Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel. Experience with Canva and CRM tools is a plus.
- Candidates must reside in or around the Mobile, Alabama metro area or be willing to relocate at own expense prior to start date.
