Systems Engineer Design Supervisor
Provide strategic guidance and oversight to the Systems Engineering Team to ensure full compliance with current and anticipated customer requirements. This includes aligning team activities with broader engineering goals, improving the driving process, and maintaining a forward-looking approach to technical standards and deliverables.
Plan and manage the activities of the Systems Engineering Department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and engineering strategy. Oversee the planning and execution of both new and existing projects assigned to the Systems Engineering Department. Ensure adequate personnel and resources are available to fulfill contractually required efforts, including those supported by the Mechanical Design Engineering Department. Contribute to the creation and refinement of departmental policies and procedures to improve efficiency and compliance.
Collaborate with Program Managers and Operations to meet engineering schedules and budgets for assigned programs. Provide direction, guidance, training, and coaching to engineering personnel to ensure the department can support current and future program requirements. Support initiatives that drive quality, productivity, standardization, and innovation in new product design. Guide, develop, and train Systems Engineers to meet the strategic goals of the engineering department. Review and generate engineering drawings with design approval authority. Provide Basis of Estimate (BOE) and schedule inputs for current and future projects. Ensure overall design compliance for all jobs assigned to the Systems Engineering Department.

This position does have supervisory responsibility. Required experience includes the ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information, interact effectively with peers and supervisors, adhere to workplace rules, and possess a Bachelor's of Science in a technical field or equivalent experience. A Master's degree in a technical field is preferred. At least five years of related experience in Engineering, Program Management, Technical Sales, and Engineering Management is required. Solid understanding of Electrical Engineering fundamentals and electrical subsystems, Mechanical Engineering fundamentals, Mechanical design, and Manufacturing Processes is necessary. Experience with AutoCAD, 3D modeling, and electrical wiring software is required. Ability to develop and present formal presentations, lead engineering teams, manage conflict, plan and organize projects, develop others, and clearly communicate both verbally and in writing is essential. Ability to travel up to 20% is required.
Office environment. Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time. Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones). Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
