We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) to join our team. As a BIS, you will work closely with children and adolescents who have developmental, emotional and behavioral challenges. Your main focus will be to create and implement behavior management plans, provide crisis intervention, and offer support to caregivers and families. Responsibilities
- Conduct functional behavior assessments and develop appropriate behavior management plans.
- Provide direct 1 : 1 intervention to children and adolescents, focusing on skill-building and behavior modification.
- Collaborate with caregivers, families, and school staff to ensure consistency and continuity of care.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions and teach social and communication skills.
- Maintain detailed records and documentation of treatment progress.
- Attend team meetings and contribute to the development of care plans for clients.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Special Education related field.Valid certification in behavior management (e.g. BCBA) preferred.At least 2 years of experience working with children and adolescents with developmental and behavioral challenges.Knowledge of evidence-based therapies and interventions for behavior management.Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to client homes / schools as needed.
