Aetna is hiring a Regional Vice President to lead Medicaid health plans across Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. This executive role is responsible for advancing segment priorities, optimizing profitability, and driving performance across the region. The Regional VP will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Medicaid and serve as a strategic partner in shaping business decisions, accelerating growth, and ensuring financial success.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead financial and operational performance with full profit and loss accountability, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and sustainable growth.
- Develop and execute business strategies that improve health outcomes for vulnerable populations while expanding geographic and program reach.
- Mentor and oversee local Health Plan CEOs, fostering high-performing teams and consistent execution across markets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with state agencies, Medicaid authorities, and healthcare stakeholders, ensuring regulatory compliance and long-term success.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in managed care, including Medical Management, Network Development, Value-Based Contracting, Operations, Compliance, Business Development, and Talent Development.
- Champion innovation and policy advancement by leveraging CVS Health resources and promoting a performance-driven, collaborative culture.
- Break down silos and encourage cross-departmental alignment to enhance transparency and operational excellence.

Qualifications & Expertise :
Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare, including 5+ years in leadership roles Medicaid or Medicare.Demonstrated success partnering with Centers of Excellence and Shared Services teams that operate outside of direct reporting lines, ensuring seamless service delivery to local markets through influence, alignment, and strategic collaboration.Demonstrated success managing multi-million-dollar Medicaid or Medicare P&Ls, driving financial performance and operational efficiency.Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and market dynamics while balancing short- and long-term business goals.Track record of leading innovation and transformation initiatives that improve Medicaid or Medicare operations.Skilled in operating within matrixed organizations, driving cross-functional alignment and execution.Established relationships with state regulators and external stakeholders to support compliance and growth.Strong general management capabilities to drive membership, revenue, and competitive advantage.Ability to set strategic goals and lead divisional initiatives with precision and impact.Deep commitment to maintaining a culture of compliance and regulatory adherence in Medicaid or Medicare programs.Pay Range : The typical pay range for this role is : $330,000 - $435,000. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
