Schedule : As scheduled including weekends, evenings, and holidays
Starting Pay : $15.12 per hour
POSITION SUMMARY
KARE Center Staff implement all tasks required for the day-to-day operation of the KARE Center, to be delivered in a respectful and comprehensive manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for creating a positive, supportive mood in the center
- Participates in the intake process by gathering required data, by orienting residents to the expectations of the center, and informing them of their client rights
- Routinely provides positive feedback and respect to residents within the center
- Employs preventive teaching methods to avoid or diminish conflicts in the home
- Provides supportive listening and encourages residents to follow through on their treatment plans as determined by CIC and CSP staff
2. Admits residents referred to the KARE Center by Adult Crisis
Requires a medical screening from a local emergency room prior to admitting residents for crisis stabilizationOpens a file on all new admissions and completes all associated paper workFiles prescriptions and or medical instructionsDocuments clinical information in resident’s progress notesStores and monitors self-administration of resident’s medication according to state guidelinesRecords discharge data and circumstancesProvides supervision of KARE Center residentsProvides hourly (or more frequently) bed checks when specifiedMonitors each resident’s medical and emotional status and arranges emergency care when appropriateNotifies the Program Manager when an emergency warrants3. Performs other duties as required by the Program Manager
Answers house phones and responds appropriately to the needs of the callerAnswers Crisis Hotline and dispatches the appropriate mobile counselor4. Required to participate in scheduled training sessions given by KHDS
Gives, receives and acts upon feedback given by director, supervisor, crisis counselors, resident or community member.Maintains confidentiality at all timesPROFESSIONALISM

Maintain the confidentiality and other rights of participants, families and staff and follow HIPPA Guidelines for all verbal and written communicationProblem-solve difficult situations in a timely mannerManage difficult or emotional consumer situations by responding promptly to needs, requests for assistance and servicesGive, receive and act upon feedback from supervisors and co-workers in an appropriate mannerMaintain professional boundaries with consumers and co-workers at all timesUnderstand cultural diversity and have respect for others’ values and cultureAttend training as requested by supervisorsOther tasks as assigned by supervisorsQUALIFICATIONS : High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience with AODA / Mental Health population a plusAbility to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, in the English languageMust have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license with good driving recordMust carry own auto insurance with at least 100,000 / 300,000 / 100,000 coverageAbility to maintain records and document case notes dailyAbility to give and accept feedback as a part of a teamAbility to traverse within the workspace and community frequentlyAbility to frequently ascend / descend stairsAbility to transport at least 25 poundsBe willing to learn and work with the treatment philosophiesBilingual in Spanish a plusKenosha Human Development Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
