Forklift Operator Assistant Yard Manager
Forest Materials, a Commercial Architectural Woodwork company and Union Millwork Shop is looking for a Forklift Operator and Assistant Yard Manager to join our Team.
We will provide training and ongoing mentoring! We are a family-owned business that takes pride in the quality of our products and customer-centric service, as well as our employees.
Forest Materials has been proudly creating high quality custom cabinets and architectural millwork for over 50 years.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload lumber, millwork and other building supplies
- Operate and maintain forklift
- Organize material in warehouse / yard
- Maintain a clean and safe environment
- Complete other tasks as assigned
- Make local deliveries as needed
Requirements
- Previous forklift experience preferred, however not required
- Knowledge of lumber species preferred, however not required
- Forklift certification required and paid by the company to obtain
- CDL Drivers license preferred, however not required and will train to obtain
- Team player willing to help others and provide excellent customer service
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
- Excellent attendance and strong work ethic
- Basic math skills
Environmental / Physical requirements
- Position is often performed in adverse weather elements and does not permit frequent sitting
- Must be able to handle dust, noise, lumber, variety of weather conditions
- Excellent physical condition and coordination, able to carry, lift, push, pull objects over 50 pounds
- Requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, lifting, crouching, kneeling, grasping
Hours Required
Full-time Monday - Friday 7 : 30am4 : 00pm (Summer Hours 7 : 00am-3 : 30pm), limited mandatory over-time
