The AWS SolutionArchitect is responsible for designing and deploying cloudbasedsolutions that leverage AWS services to address Indiana Departmentof Health IT and businessrequirements.
- Architectshould be certified and experts in cloud architecture and AWStechnologies and work to ensure that the cloud infrastructure issecure efficient and aligned with the organizations goals andcompliance with Indiana Office of Technology cloud terms.
- Solution Architectresponsible for designing and implementing scalable reliable andcosteffective solutions on the AWS cloudplatform.
KeyResponsibilities :
- SolutionDesign : Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business andtechnical requirements and design scalable costeffective solutionsusing AWSservices.
- ArchitecturalPlanning : Create detailed architectural diagrams and documentationto outline the structure of AWS solutions including networkarchitecture data storage and computingresources.
- Service Selection : Recommend and select appropriate AWS services to meet the specificneeds of each project considering factors like performance cost andsecurity.
- Infrastructure Designand Deployment : Plan implement and maintain AWS infrastructureincluding but not limited to virtual private clouds (VPCs) subnetssecurity groups IAM roles and networkingcomponents.
- ApplicationDeployment : Facilitate the deployment of applications on AWS usingservices like Amazon EC2 Lambda Elastic Beanstalk and containers(ECS / EKS).
- Infrastructure asCode (IaC) : Implement infrastructure automation and manage AWSresources using tools like AWS CloudFormation or other industryproven.
- Security : Ensure thesecurity and compliance of AWS solutions by implementing bestpractices encryption and identity and access management (IAM)controls.
- Cost Optimization : Optimize AWS costs by selecting costeffective services andarchitectures implementing cost monitoring and providingrecommendations for costreduction.
- Performance andScalability : Design solutions that can scale horizontally andvertically to accommodate growing workloads anddemand.
- High Availability andDisaster Recovery : Design solutions with high availability anddisaster recovery in mind using features like AWS AvailabilityZones and backupstrategies.
- Monitoring andOptimization : Set up monitoring and alerting systems to proactivelyidentify and address performance and availabilityissues.
- Technical Leadership : Collaborate with development and operations teams to guide theimplementation of AWS solutions and provide technicalleadership.
- Customer Engagement : Act as a trusted advisor to customers provide technical expertiseand assist in decisionmaking related to AWSservices.
- AWS Glue : Oversightand help AWS Glue developer for designing and implementing dataintegration transformation and ETL (Extract Transform Load)workflows using AWS Glue along with other AWSservices.
- Vendor Management : Work with the IDOH vendor who will be responsible to in completionof migration of onpremise applications and databases to AWSenvironment.
