POSITION SUMMARY :
Heelstone is seeking a Finance Intern who will contribute to managing stakeholder engagement, maintaining accuracy of the corporate financial model, and gathering inputs from various operational groups. In addition, this person will assist with updating and improving budgeting and forecasting methodologies. This position will report to the FP&A Manager and will work closely with Heelstone's Development, Investments, Finance, and Accounting teams. This internship requires a commitment of 40 hours a week for 3 months in the Spring or Summer of 2026. This position is located in Durham, North Carolina.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Liaise with Heelstone's various teams and assist in updating financial models to reflect changes in project development, financing, and assumptions.
- Collaborate with Development, Finance (project finance, tax equity, M&A), Origination, and the management team to gather inputs and ensure the accuracy of Heelstone's corporate financial model.
- Contribute to monthly, annual, and multi-year financial projections.
- Analyze financial results to budget and forecast, and work with the FP&A Manager to provide recommendations for future action.
- Work with the FP&A Manager to provide inputs for project budgets and annual budgets.
- Perform scenario analysis and stress testing to assess the impact of various business decisions and external factors on the company's financial health.
- Assist in ad hoc financial analysis of the development pipeline, acquisitions, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND PERSONAL QUALITIES
Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Exposure to building and improving financial models.Willingness to learn, analytical capabilities, and attention to detail.Enjoys working in an entrepreneurial and collaborative environment.Strong sense of accountability, taking responsibility over projects and responsibilities, and resolving issues proactively.Ability to work concurrently on a variety of projects, prioritize efforts, and work effectively under defined deadlinesExcellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.Strong organization and management skills.EDUCATION / PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
