Our client, a successful & growing law firm, is seeking a skilled Associate Attorney to join their dynamic litigation team. The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in insurance defense / civil litigation. This role involves managing cases independently from inception to resolution, including all aspects of discovery, motion practice, depositions, court appearances, and trial preparation. The attorney will represent clients in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts state and federal courts.
Location : Providence, RI
Role : Associate Attorney
Salary : $100,000 - $135,000 (DOE)
Schedule : Hybrid (some days in office, some remote)
Responsibilities :
- Independently manage a litigation caseload with supervision and guidance from senior attorneys.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests / responses, and legal memoranda for insurance defense cases.
- Conduct depositions, court appearances, mediations, and client meetings.
- Analyze complex legal and factual issues, prepare case evaluations, and advise clients accordingly.
- Collaborate with partners and senior counsel to develop litigation strategies.
- Communicate effectively with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Maintain organized case files and meet all internal and court deadlines
Requirements :
Must be admitted to practice law in both Rhode Island and MassachusettsJ.D. from an accredited law schoolMinimum 3 years of experience in insurance defense / civil litigationStrong research, writing, and analytical skillsAbility to handle a high-volume caseload independentlyExcellent communication and organizational skills
