Position Summary

As a member of the UPMC Events Center Event Security team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining order in the venue. In this position you will deal directly with guests attending public and private events such as concerts, basketball games, volleyball games, corporate events, and many others. You will guard, patrol, and monitor the venue to ensure all safety policies and procedures are being maintained. This position reports to the Director of Events.

This role will pay an hourly wage of $13.50.

For PT roles : Benefits : 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching.

EVERGREEN ROLE : Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis; there is no application deadline.

Responsibilities

• Monitor arrival and departure of guests to prevent any security and safety issues
• Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates
• Write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences
• Operate metal detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited items into venue
• Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises
• Provide protection to VIP guests
• Other duties as assigned

Previous security experience helpful
