The purpose of this position is to provide faculty with support services in technology which focuses on effective practices in online teaching and facilitate learners in gaining knowledge, skills and competencies, and strengthen student engagement in all modalities.
This is an entirely grant-funded position contingent on continued funding. Two positions will be filled from this posting : one based in Gainesville and one based on the Denton County campuses.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Create Canvas course for divisional training module template to incorporate student engagement to support and meet grant deliverables
- Prepare and conduct In-Service and distance education training sessions for faculty and staff when necessary to meet grant deliverables.
- Communication from students and faculty in order to resolve problems concerning Canvas and additional related online course software related to grant deliverables.
- Update website for online procedures and FAQ’s for accuracy or latest information with regards to Canvas, related software to meet grant deliverables.
- Create new faculty / staff accounts in Canvas to meet grant course deliverables.
- Assist with the development and format of computer-based tutorials and instructional guides for faculty, staff to meet grant deliverables.
- Research technology products and supplies to enhance eLearning for support grant deliverables.
- Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change based on the needs of the department and the institution.
Required Education Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, Graphic Design, or related field Required Skills & Abilities
- Instructional design theories
- Creating courses in an LMS
- Basic use of Microsoft Office
- Best practices in course design
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Varied and instructional skills and experience
- IT / computer experience
- Problem solving
