The Company has invested heavily in new capacity and capabilities to create a facility that is globally unique in its ability to process marine, animal, and botanical raw materials through to Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) powders and oils via its portfolio of processing and extraction technologies.
The company is expanding rapidly with two new production lines in Hillsborough and a brand-new purpose-built facility in Rolleston.
Key Responsibilities :
- Promote a culture of engagement and performance through meetings, coaching, motivation, and career development plans.
- Positively promote and effectively facilitate health, safety, and wellbeing across all functions of Waitaki Biosciences
- Build and foster relationships with people leaders, staff, and key stakeholders to enable meaningful collaboration.
- Lead risk management and managing injury management.
- Manage end to end recruitment.
- Ensure HSE & HR goals are aligned with business goals.
- Maintain HR systems and processes.
- Facilitate HSE / Wellbeing committee meetings.
- Working knowledge of safety management information systems
- External auditing ESG, Smeta, Toitu
- Ensuring compliance to relevant standards for dangerous goods and hazardous substances (Ethanol, ammonia, and other chemicals)
- Emergency Response Management and managing Environmental compliance.
The successful applicant will have :
- Have significant experience managing Health and Safety (minimum 5 years)
- Have excellent knowledge of legislation and procedures.
- Tertiary qualification desirable, but not essential
- A background in the food processing industry or a high hazard workplace, would be highly desirable.
- Proven management / mentoring experience
- Auditing experience
- Be an effective problem solver and critical thinker.
- Experience with Dangerous Goods / Hazardous Substances is essential.
Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand. This role is a permanent full-time position (40 hours Monday-Friday).
