Monitor Technician - Telemetry

PeaceHealth is seeking a Monitor Technician - Telemetry for a Part Time, 0.80 FTE, Night position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $21.75 – $33.97. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for obtaining and interpreting cardiac physiological monitoring data, documenting any changes in arrhythmias and reporting problems to a registered nurse or physician. Responsible for assessing and maintaining equipment to ensure proper function.

Essential Functions

• Operate the appropriate monitoring device in accordance with physician orders. Expert at using all functions of central monitoring equipment.
• Observes monitors continually, detecting and documenting any changes in heart rhythm and arrhythmias according to department standards. Identifies and interprets EKG and relays pertinent information to physician or nurse according to department standards.
• Assists physicians in viewing rhythm history.
• Orients staff to central monitoring capability and role of Monitor Tech.
• Perform clerical duties as assigned which may include processing admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
