Position Overview : Our client is seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join their dynamic team at their Occupational Medicine Office.
As a medical assistant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being of our patients and supporting our healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities : Clinical Support :
Clinical Support :
- Assist physicians and nurses during patient examinations and minor procedures.
- Accurately record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
- Collect blood samples for lab tests and ensure proper labeling and handling.
- Prepare patients for occupational health assessments and screenings.
Administrative Duties :
- Schedule patient appointments efficiently, considering occupational health needs.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans.
- Handle phone inquiries, address patient concerns, and provide exceptional customer service.
- Manage billing and payments related to occupational health services.
Occupational Health Services :
- Collaborate with employers and employees to facilitate pre-employment screenings, drug testing, and vaccinations.
- Administer immunizations and maintain vaccination records.
- Assist with workers' compensation cases and return-to-work evaluations.
- Coordinate referrals to specialists as needed.
Inventory Management :
- Monitor and restock medical supplies, ensuring availability for daily operations.
- Maintain inventory of vaccines, medications, and other necessary items.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal medical assistant training program preferred.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification is advantageous.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, data entry, and electronic health records.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Compassionate and professional demeanor when interacting with patients.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
