Tax Supervisor
JOB DESCRIPTION AtWork Personnel is looking for a Tax Supervisor for a locally owned and well established accounting firm.

Job Summary :
As a Tax Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all tax-related activities within our organization.
You will lead a team of tax professionals and collaborate closely with various departments to ensure compliance with tax regulations, optimize tax strategies, and support the financial objectives of the company.
Your expertise in tax laws, strong analytical skills, and ability to provide guidance and mentorship will be critical to the success of our tax operations.
Responsibilities :
Prepare and review federal and multi-state returns for C- Corps, S-Corps, Partnerships and individuals
Interact with clients and supervise the information flow from the client to the audit team to insure efficiency
Develop tax strategies to assist clients in being tax-compliant
Identify tax problems and develop solutions
Supervise members of tax department
Communicate with clients through e-mail, phone, and in person to discuss and resolve tax issues
Prepare not-for-profit returns including entities reporting UBIT
Identify opportunities for additional services or services which may suit the firm and client in a better manner
Recognize and inform partner of opportunities to increase types of services to clients
Anticipate and handle client concerns and keep partner apprised of the situations
Continue professional development through ongoing education
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A Master's degree in taxation or a relevant certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred.
Proven experience (5+ years) in tax planning, compliance, and reporting, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
Strong knowledge of local, state, federal, and international tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and apply tax laws and regulations effectively.
Experience with tax software and ERP systems for tax planning, compliance, and reporting purposes.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of tax professionals.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey complex tax concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance while working under tight deadlines.
Ability to adapt to changes in tax laws and regulations and provide strategic recommendations.
Proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Requirements :
Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance required; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in an accounting firm or equivalent combination of experience
Knowledge of individual and corporate income tax reporting requirements
Ability to work with individuals, small business clients, and large corporations in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to prioritize tasks according to deadlines
Ability to work under pressure in a high-pressure environment
Experience with QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet research, and tax software (Preferred)
Experience with Mergers & Acquisitions (Preferred)
