Job description

UP TO $3,000 IN HIRING BONUS! \n\nWorking in partnership to promote and improve health, wellness, safety, and quality of life in San Bernardino County.\n\nThe Department of Public Health (DPH) is recruiting for Nurse Practitioners II (NP II) who provide patient care services in primary care clinics with behavioral health integration using the collaborative care model. Duties include obtaining patient health history; performing physical examinations; identifying abnormal conditions and developing treatment plans; recording findings, assessment, treatment plans, follow-up examinations, and subsequent evaluations; engaging mental health screenings and providing interventions with support from a clinical therapist and Psychiatrist.\n\nFor more detailed information, refer to the Nurse Practitioner II job descriptions.\n\nThe base salary range for Nurse Practitioners is between $58.33 and $76.53 per hour. Step placement is determined by your previous nursing experience, certifications, and education level.\n\nImmediate vacancy exist in the Ontario Federally Qualified Health Center.   • Valid Nurse Practitioner license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing (CA BRN) for a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP),\n
  • Valid Registered Nurse license issued by the CA BRN,\n
  • Valid Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate (Course Completion Card) issued by the American Heart Association.\n
  • Valid Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration certificate for authorization to prescribe all necessary medication and verification as a legitimate handler of controlled substances.\n\nExperience\n\nSix (6) months of full-time equivalent paid experience as a journey-level licensed Family Nurse Practitioner.\n\nNOTE : NP I is a Trainee-level classification, and is not considered qualifying experience. The licensed NP experience must be in a journey-level, NP II or higher, classification to be considered qualifying.\n\nExperience : Applicants with paid family health nursing experience in a family health environment and / or at least one (1) year of paid experience as a journey-level licensed Family Nurse Practitioner are encouraged to apply.\n\nBilingual Skills : Applicants fluent in American Sign Language, Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish and / or Vietnamese are strongly encouraged to apply. Additional compensation is associated with positions requiring the use of bilingual skills.
