Cardiology Clinic Position
Position is located at Mercy Medical Office Building. Work type is full time with 32 hours per week. Work schedule is from 7 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM. A sign-on bonus is available for eligible candidates.
Summary : The medical assistant works in collaboration with all members of the care team to provide high-quality compassionate care. This is accomplished by ensuring efficient patient flow, enhancing patient relationships, managing visit cycle time, office workflows, and patient access. The incumbent assists the provider and care team with rooming and patient care procedures, including documentation, and coordinates patient activities to support managing the targeted population's health.
Responsibilities :
- Identify necessary equipment and materials for patient visits
- Room patients in accordance with established guidelines
- Communicate patient medical information to the patient and / or appropriate staff
- Perform office procedures
- Schedule patient appointments
- Prepare lab specimens
- Set up prescription refills
- Report lab and diagnostic results
- Document patient encounters into multiple systems
- Assist and / or chaperone patient procedures
- Manage provider paper documents
- Respond to patient phone calls
- Prepare and conduct EKGs, eye and auditory screening, phlebotomy, and ear lavage
- Assist with casting and splinting
- Prepare patient health information via electronic records
- Perform and document immunizations and injections
- Facilitate patient-centered visits
- Ensure consults and charts are prepared for patient contact
- Coordinate and manage provider's tasks
- Collect clinical information and communicate to provider
- Perform direct patient care services
- Ensure provider schedule meets patient needs
- Room patients within 7 minutes of appointment time
- Participate in daily huddles and weekly team meetings
- Perform ancillary tests such as EKGs, PFTs, Peak Flow Rates, Rapid Strep, HCG's, Glucose Checks, and FOBT's
- Perform various CLIA waived lab tests
- Administer immunizations and medications in accordance with guidelines
- Ensure exam rooms are prepared for patient visits
- Provide patient education
- Assist with orientation and training of new staff members
- Maintain clinical / technical skills and knowledge
- Set up follow up letters and reminders for service
- All other duties as assigned
