Overview

The Pharmacy Sales Consultant will focus on Pharmacy Sales for all Keenan and AssuredPartners (AP) pharmacy products as well, providing support within business development.

This remote position will reside in an area in proximity to New York and Maryland.

Keenan, an Accretive company, is an insurance brokerage and consulting firm meeting the insurance needs of hospitals, public entities and California school districts.

Keenan specializes in providing consulting services in the areas of : employee benefits, workers' compensation, loss control, financial, and property & liability.

What You'll Do

  • Growth in sales of all Keenan and AP pharmacy products and services.
  • Must actively pursue new business opportunities with prospective clients.
  • Develop business relationships with brokers / consultants, Accretive, Keenan and all AP offices.
  • In the course of developing new business with prospects, demonstrate the ability to attend and lead finalist presentations.
  • Ability to see the "big picture", incorporating experience, knowledge with attention to detail that drives success in overall effective business strategy.
  • Support the VP of Business Development to manage : consultant and business relationships, the large volume of new business opportunities, the compliance of program policies and procedures;

and all other business development operations and consulting.

  • Will assist in the development of RFPs, cost proposals, data requests, communication with consultants, meetings, conferences, upselling and marketing our programs.
  • Possess extensive market knowledge of all pharmacy coalitions, clinical options and PBMs in the industry.
  • Promote new pharmacy sales managed by the COE East and West.
  • Assist with KPS current projects and other projects as assigned.
  • Maintain confidential and propriety information at all times, including, but not limited to information relating to Keenan Pharmacy Services’ clients, policies, practices, etc.
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert for new sales activities for our New York schools account, NY Counties and Municipalities, Association of Superintendents and other programs primarily in the State of NY, but also in surrounding states.
  • Serve as a primary subject matter expert for new sales activities in the State of Maryland working with our contacts at Maryland Association of Counties (MACO) and Maryland Municipal League (MML).
  • Consult on all pharmacy benefit programs to increase sales and revenue for Keenan core business (healthcare, schools, municipalities, commercial, TPA, COE), Keenan Pharmacy legacy Marketing Partners, Keenan Pharmacy acquisitions and AP offices across the country.
  • Promote our pharmacy programs in the stated geographic area to new brokers / consultants with our Accretive brand.
  • Strong consulting and product knowledge is required to collaborate with all Keenan Pharmacy Partners, affiliated AP offices, and Corporate Pharmacy Sales and Analytics Division.
  • Comprehensive role in overall effective business strategy encompassing business relations, product development, collaboration with all internal and external Keenan Pharmacy teammates and partners.
  • Serve as a primary Keenan Pharmacy Services (KPS) representative for KPS programs for pricing, contracts, implementations, PBM products KPPC, EmpiRx, MedImpact, Liviniti, USRxCare, Anthem / CarelonRx, IBC Coalition, Clinical management program KPCM.
  • Will provide employee benefits consultative services for Ancillary pharmacy services Patient Assistance, Copay Assistance, International Pharmacy, Clinics, 340B and other pharmacy programs as developed by the KPS Business Development.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience of PBM consulting, sales, and clinical background with self-funded clients.
  • Must have intermediate knowledge with prescription drug therapies, pricing to communicate within the Keenan Pharmacy platform.
  • Possess a good understanding of pharmacy pricing calculations, PBM contracts and negotiations.
  • Ability to embrace the complex market fragmentation, offer innovative solutions and provide expert consultation.
  • Must be strong and comfortable with speaking and presenting in one-on-one and group settings.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) such as in a client presentation
  • Must be a self-starter, detail oriented and organized.
  • Possess excellent inter-personal and organizational skills.
  • Must work well in a team environment and able to assist in multiple areas of the pharmacy business.
  • General knowledge of the healthcare industry required.
  • Licensed PharmTech welcomed and encouraged.
  • Ability to travel (possibly + 50%).
  • Active Life & Health License is recommended.

Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Compensation :

The target salary range for this position is $100,000.00 to $125,000.00 (US Dollar) annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. Hybrid work environment flexibility.
